The 29th World Congress of the International College for Maxillofacial Surgery (ICMFS), will be held in Cyprus, between the 5th and 9th of October 2015 at Carob Mill, Evagoras Lanitis Center. The congress is one of the most significant medical events in the world and the assignment of its organization to Cyprus is a major achievement of the Congress’ president Dr. Zoe Nicolaou, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Maxillofacial surgery includes prevention, diagnosis and the surgical or any other relevant therapy of diseases and imperfections that occur in the area of the mouth, of the jaws and the face as well as any extensions that may occur on the head and the cervix of the neck. More specifically it includes Dentoalveolar surgery, Maxillofacial Trauma, Orthognathic Surgery and Head and Neck Oncology.

Dr. Laspos, Orthodontist, Specialist in individuals with craniofacial malformations, is a member of the local Scientific and the Organizational Committee of the congress. He will present two lectures: the first to be held on Monday 5th of October 2015 titled “The use of Presrugical Infant Orthopedics to treat individuals with Cleft Lip and Palate” and the second on Thursday 8 October 2015, titled “Treatment of Open Bites with the use of «Sugawara» Mini plates”.
